About the Pastor

A Servant Leader
Rooted in Saint Lucia

Elijah Fontaine was born and raised in Saint Lucia, the second of five children in a household where faith was not a Sunday habit but a daily way of life. He answered his calling to ministry at the age of 24, having spent his early years as a teacher — an experience that would permanently shape how he communicates the Word: clearly, practically, and with the whole person in mind.

Over 22 years of pastoral ministry, he has built Living Word Ministry from a small home prayer group into a congregation of over 500 members, with a reputation across Saint Lucia for accessible Biblical teaching, compassionate community outreach, and a willingness to speak plainly into the real challenges that Caribbean families face.

His ministry extends beyond the church walls — through prison visits, hospital chaplaincy, school programmes, and a growing online audience following his weekly sermon series. He is, above all, a pastor who remembers where he came from and who he is called to serve.
