Something has been weighing on you. Maybe for a while now.
You've been managing it, pushing through — but there are days when
it feels like too much to carry quietly.
Therapy is not a sign of weakness. It is one of the most
honest things a person can do for themselves — and for the
people they love.
"The work we do here is not about fixing you. There is nothing to fix. It is about finding your way back to yourself."
— Dr. Renée Antoine
Many people arrive at therapy not with a dramatic crisis, but with a quiet, persistent heaviness they can't quite explain. A feeling that life should feel different than this. If any of the following feel familiar — this is a safe place to begin.
You look fine to everyone around you. But inside, something is heavier than it should be — and you're exhausted from pretending otherwise.
Your mind races. You overthink, over-prepare, worry about things you can't control. Sleep doesn't come easily. Rest doesn't feel restful.
Not every depression announces itself with drama. Sometimes it's a flatness, a withdrawal, a loss of interest in things that used to matter to you.
Loss takes many shapes — a person, a relationship, a version of yourself, a life you imagined. Grief is not a problem to be solved. But it doesn't have to be endured alone.
You've been giving everything to everyone. Work, family, responsibilities — and somewhere along the way, you stopped having anything left for yourself.
You don't have to be in crisis to come to therapy. Sometimes it's simply a knowing — that you are capable of more peace, more clarity, more ease — and you want support getting there.
Reaching out can feel like the hardest part. This short reflection helps you understand what kind of support might suit you best — and connects you to Dr. Antoine with a personalised WhatsApp message, so you never have to start from scratch.
There are no right or wrong answers. There is no assessment or scoring. This is simply a gentle first step.
Your privacy matters here. Nothing you select is stored, recorded, or shared. This tool exists only to help you take the first step.
Every person who comes to therapy arrives with something unique. What follows is a guide — not a definitive list. If you don't see your experience here, reach out anyway.
Persistent worry, panic, social anxiety, health anxiety, and the kind of low-level stress that never quite goes away. Therapy helps you understand the patterns driving your anxiety and build real tools for calm.
Depression is not laziness, weakness, or ingratitude. It is a real experience that affects how you think, feel, and move through the world. Therapy provides a space to understand it — and to find your way through.
Trauma does not have to be a single dramatic event. It can be the accumulated weight of years of difficult experiences. Trauma-focused therapy provides a safe, paced process for healing — without you ever having to go back further than you feel ready for.
Grief is not a problem with a solution. It is love with nowhere to go. Whether you've lost a person, a relationship, a role, or a version of your future — there is space here to grieve without a timeline or a rulebook.
When you've given so much for so long that you can't remember what it felt like not to be tired. Burnout is not a character flaw — it's what happens when people who care deeply are not given enough care themselves.
Adulthood brings changes nobody quite prepares you for — relationships, parenthood, career, loss of purpose, moving countries, ageing. Therapy helps you move through change without losing yourself in the process.
"Therapy is not for white people. It is not for the weak. It is for anyone who is tired of carrying what they were never supposed to carry alone."
Dr. Antoine works with cultural context at the centre of every therapeutic relationship. She understands the particular pressures of Caribbean family dynamics, community expectations, and the silence that so many people are expected to maintain. You will not have to explain or justify where you're coming from.
Therapy should not feel like a financial mystery. All fees are shared clearly before any session begins — and your first enquiry costs nothing.
One-to-one sessions focused on your specific experience, at your pace. The most common starting point — and often the most transformative.
A 30-minute introductory session to meet, discuss what's brought you to therapy, ask questions, and decide together whether this is the right fit — before committing to ongoing sessions.
For Caribbean clients living abroad — in the UK, US, Canada, or elsewhere. Dr. Antoine understands the particular experience of navigating a second culture while carrying the weight of where you come from.
If cost is a barrier to accessing support, please reach out. A limited number of reduced-fee places are available for clients experiencing financial hardship. Dr. Antoine believes that the cost of therapy should never be the reason someone doesn't get help.
The process is simple and unhurried. You set the pace.
Send a WhatsApp message — as brief or as detailed as feels right. There are no requirements. Just say you'd like to talk.
Dr. Antoine responds to every enquiry personally. She will ask a few gentle questions and suggest the most suitable way to begin.
Your first session is about you talking and Dr. Antoine listening. There is no agenda, no pressure, no expectation. Just space.
Sessions continue at a frequency that suits you. The work deepens when you're ready. You are always in control of the pace.
Dr. Renée Antoine was born and raised in Saint Lucia. She studied Psychology at the University of the West Indies before completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in the United Kingdom. Returning to the Caribbean in 2013, she has spent over a decade working with individuals across the Eastern Caribbean — in private practice, within community health settings, and in schools.
She brings to every session not only clinical training, but a genuine understanding of what it means to grow up, love, grieve, and struggle in this particular corner of the world. She knows the cultural conversations that therapy in the Caribbean requires — including the ones that often go unspoken.
Her approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. She will challenge you when it helps and hold space when that is what's needed. Above all, she meets every client exactly where they are — without judgement, without agenda.
All reflections are shared anonymously and with full client consent. Names and identifying details have been changed.
I had never spoken to anyone about how I was feeling — not really. The first session I was terrified. By the third, I couldn't believe I had waited so long. Dr. Antoine doesn't make you feel like a problem to solve. She makes you feel like a person worth understanding.
I was raised to believe that prayer was the answer to everything, and that therapy was for people who had lost their faith. Renée helped me see that healing and faith are not opposites. That changed something fundamental for me.
I came in thinking I needed someone to fix me. I left understanding that I was never broken — just carrying things I needed help setting down. That distinction still matters to me.
Dr. Antoine's practice is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact the Saint Lucia Crisis Hotline: 485-6967, attend your nearest emergency department, or call a trusted person right now. If you are unsure where to turn, message Dr. Antoine on WhatsApp and she will help direct you to the right support.
No question is too small. If yours isn't here — ask on WhatsApp.
You don't have to arrive with everything figured out. You just have to arrive. Dr. Antoine will meet you there.
